This trail follows a fire road. Typically, these don’t excite me too much due to the perception that there’s nothing to see. In this case, that would be wrong, as the views of the snowscapped mountains were something truly special. The road goes from silted lava rock to dirt to rocks and everything in between but is never really bad. The elevation, once it starts, never ends. The nice thing about a road trail and elevation is that it makes for a speedy descent! It was a good hike with magical views.
