The start of the hike was great, cool SoCal weather. It got hot in the afternoon but overall the trail was pretty good. I got off the trail when I hit the fork and instead of turning to my right, I went straight to the road. When I realized that I went off trail, I tracked and figured out the correct trail.

On our way back down, we ran across a family of bears; 2 cubs and Mama Bear. We were very cautious but when Mama Bear saw us and started walking in our direction, we ran back up the hill. We waited for about 10 minutes and heard bushes down the hill, so we figured that the bear family went off the trail down the hill. We proceeded cautiously.

Overall great hike.
