A gorgeous day on the mountain! Slightly chilly in the shade but perfect temps in the sun and nearly no wind at the summit. Note: the 3.7 miles to the summit sign near the start of the hike is a lie. It’s more like 4.05 miles each way. Not egregiously off, but you’ll be feeling it by 3.7 miles in and wondering why you can’t see the summit. The last summit push looks brutal past Wally Waldren, but it is nothing like the final push to Baldy. Definitely get there early – the lot was nearly full at 7am today and by the time I was down at 11:45am, but the overflow parking across the street and street parking were beyond full. Still one of my absolute favorites. Moving time 3 hours 49 minutes.
