Started off early at 7 AM to try and beat the heat. Up to the summit it was nice mostly shaded. Weather got up to about 81° and was quite hot on the descent, exposed by the sun. I recommend 3 L of water I had 2+ a 16 ounce bottle and drank all by the last mile. Love the beautiful creek going up And  tiny waterfalls. This was an out and back so on the way down enjoyed soaking my toes in the creek. I had read the day before someone was on the trail and there was a lot of bugs so I wore long sleeves and pants for the first time. But I was super excited that the flies were not too much in abundance. Got up to the summit was excited to see the sign, it is split in half but we were able to put together for photos.  Wrapped the day up with outdoor dining at a restaurant in Mount Baldy. Excellent hike.
