In an effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we chose to start our hike right at sunrise, around 6:30am. Only a few others on the trail. Our ascent was shaded entirely (the sun was rising on the other side of the peak). So many gorgeous yellow wildflowers EVERYWHERE during the first portion. The second half of the trail was a bit brutal; a stair-stepper of [ENDLESS] rocks, without much of a marked trail to follow. Still, we made it to the summit, ate snacks and enjoyed the cool breeze. Only a handful of hikers at the top; we kept our six foot distance. Back to the [FULL] parking lot by 11:15am. Passed LOTS of hikers (groups, couples, runners), some cute lizards, and a rattlesnake on the way down. Stay safe out there everyone! Wash wash wash your hands!
