Snow:

Intermittent snow – not hard to cross

We started at Manker Flats and headed up past the Notch to Devil's Backbone to summit. At about 9,800 we saw a Bighorn Sheep! Once we got to the summit, we intended to head over to Dawson Peak but the trail was not visible due to snow so we turned back up to Baldy.

We started early. We parked at 4:45am and started heading up at 5am. Mountain was very empty as we headed up. We saw a handful of people on our way up. At the summit around 7:30am, there were about 10 people at the most. But on our way down (headed down around 8:10am) via Baldy Bowl Trail, there were SO many people. Glad we started as early as we did to beat the crowds and the heat!

It was my first time to the top of Baldy and it was an absolutely beautiful day!
