Amazing birthday hike with friends from both Hike Junkies and Queens Hiking AZ. Turning 41 never felt so good! Dirt road to the trailhead. Started with headlamps and the moon at 6am. Toward the saddle was the sunrise. We hiked the extra mile to get to Lone Tree. That beautiful little solo tree just right of Weaver’s Needle when you look out from saddle. You hike this far go a few more steps to the tree. Worth it. The original 4.8 mile hike goes to 5.6 round trip with the little extra stretch to the Lone Tree.

    1. The trail is pretty well marked as many hike to the Lone Tree spot. If you zoom on the pic from the saddle you can see it. Highly recommend it. Just to say you made it. And good photo also. If you have AllTrails app you can search alone Tree via Peralta Canyon Trail. It takes you past saddle (peak challenge) and then to the Lone Tree. And since you are already there might as well do it. 🙂
