This was my third trip up Black Butte this year, but first at the upper trailhead. Let me tell you, the hike from the upper trailhead is WAY easier. Fresh legs and only 2ish miles of up. But the drive in? Barf. Give me the lower trailhead any day. 1:39:40; 1525′ according to my watch.
