It rained a bit. Route is about 2 miles longer than all-trails states. Trail has some downed trees that create quite an obstacle but manageable. We hiked on Saturday 7/23 to the saddle and pitched a tent. Due to the monsoon rains the mountain was empty for us. It quit raining about 30 minutes after we departed the trailhead and we didn't see another drop. In the morning of the 24th, we summited Bonanza and returned to the campsite and recovered our gear and hiked back down.

How was the road to the trailhead? Someone else reported that it got washed out along the way.
Hello, when we went through the road was normal (I’ve hike bonanza every year for the past 6 years). We did get some heavy rains but I doubt that road was washed out. I was backpacking the LCT (one of your recommended backpacking routes and it was AWESOME) when we got the rains here.
