Snowfields to cross – could be difficult

Weather was absolutely gorgeous!! Trail was snow covered right off the bat, with bare spots. The meadows were gorgeous and we saw many marmots among them. Sunscreen and sunglasses are a must! We reapplied multiple times. Once we crossed pebble creek, the trail was a little harder to navigate due to melting snow. Trekking poles would’ve been helpful but we managed without. Rumbling rockfalls were heard off to our left as we made our final climb. We had read the last half a mile seemed to never end and they were right! Boot step after boot step, we made it to camp Muir and boy was it worth it!! Absolutely exhilarating with clear views of Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood and Mount St. Helens. On the way down, enjoy the Glissading opportunities – we used a yard trash bag and it worked like a charm!
