My husband and I were back at it after a short hiatus (family gatherings, work and Zion trip).

We ascended to the peak up the fire road, and boy it was brutal. We took our time. The views at the top were amazing. We went back down via Conejos trail and this is where the “fun” began.  My husband was attacked by very bug on the way down. We were warned by hikers coming up about rattlesnakes (my anxiety went through the roof). We ended up seeing one (and I was mentally done).  When we got to the bottom, we were near a stream of water and we both were getting attacked my the bugs.

Overall the views were amazing … just mentally exhausted from worrying about the rattlesnakes
