BEAUTIFUL DAY. PASSED A COUPLE OF GUYS ON THE TRAIL FROM COLORADO. ON MY WAY BACK DOWN, ONE OF THEM WAS HAVING SOME TROUBLE. WE GOT HIM TO MILE MARKER 106 AND IT WAS GOING TO BE TOO DANGEROUS FOR HIM TO CONTINUE. HAD TO CALL IN PHOENIX FIRE AND THEY AIR LIFTED HIM TO THE PARKING LOT. HE DID GREAT AND WAS GOING TO BE ABLE TO ATTEND A WEDDING THAT HE WAS IN TOWN FOR ON FRIDAY. NOT YOUR NORMAL HIKE, BUT I AM REALLY GLAD THAT HE ALLOWED US TO HELP HIM.
THERE ARE SOME AREAS THAT YOU MUST BE CAREFUL WITH ON THIS HIKE. I'VE BEEN DOING IT SINCE HIGH SCHOOL (MANY MOONS AGO) AND YOU NEED TO BE PREPARED. EASY ACCESS TO THE TRAIL HEAD DOESN'T MEAN THE HIKE IS A PIECE OF CAKE.
