The valley was covered in June gloom, but starting out at 5:25am at the Icehouse trailhead the skies were clear. It was a gorgeous day for a hike and it went really well. We arrived at the parking lot about 5:15am and the parking lot was already almost full. Encountered very few people on the hike up. There was some patchy snow around the trail during the last mile and a half or so, but it only actually was on the trail in two spots and both spots were easy to cross. We summited in just under three hours to a stunning view in all directions. The valley looked like it was covered in an ocean of clouds. During the hike back down, we passed many people but it was otherwise uneventful.
