It’s always exciting to climb this peak because it’s not easy for me to drive to main divide without a friend with a truck????????
Today, it was innocently super cloudy. We started off the drive up with very low visibility but after a few miles in, it felt like we were on top of the clouds. We were able to see the top of the low clouds then seemed like a few feet gap then prettier cumulus clouds hovering above. Weather was perfect that I didn’t need to peel off a layer of clothing. Unfortunately, same clouds claimed the lives of Kobe with 8 others.
No other hikers today except 2 guys headed to Modjeska Peak. Not sure if they handed a memo that today is truck day???????? Too many to count in my opinion.
Some patches of snow can be seen approaching the last turn to the tower area and more towards Holy Jim trail.
