On trail by 8:30 am, the sky was clear, temp started at 54o & warmed to around 70 by end of hike. There was an amazing burst of Fall colors on the bushes and deciduous trees – if you can do this hike soon, it's prime-time for color. Trail to viewpoint in excellent shape. Up top, the viewpoint was a busy, but it wasn't until I checked AllTrails, that I realized this was a “false summit”, and the rock scramble, on-again off-again trail section was ahead of me. I love ridge hikes and rock scrambles so enjoyed this more challenging section. The “real” summit had wonderful views, but the solar panel, antenna (?), & ladder, were unexpected, and the interpretive sign was blown over (no biggy, & not surprising since the wind was whipping big-time). Tons more smiling faces at the view point on my return, but no one to take my picture on the summit.
