Hiked solo as I usually do. Got on the trail by 930 in the morning. It was cool with a stiff breeze throughout the hike, especially along the peak. First time hiking this trail and really enjoyed it. I didn’t run into another person until I was resting at the peak and only saw one other person on my way down. As I walked down through the lower section I ran into a mountain lion on the trail. This was a first for me in many years of hiking. Definitely an exhilarating few seconds as we looked at each other from probably 200 yards away. He stared at me for a moment and then walked off into the undergrowth. Kept my attention focused for the remainder of the hike. Great day in a new area.
