Hike ended up being about 7 miles round trip. Gentle inclines for the most part, some rock scrambles, and a mixture of direct sun and shade. There were also tunnels of chaparral, so make sure you wear pants and sleeves if you're prone to scratches or just want to be more comfortable. Views are fantastic and there weren't that many folks out there – we encountered one hiker when we were headed up, then two at the top, and we heard a group rock climbing somewhere nearby. Signs on the trail were very unofficial – the first sign we came across was a makeshift one posted to a garbage can telling us which way to go, then a couple signs where “CM” and an arrow had been etched into a board – but we got there. We took our time, checking out bugs and a snake (not poisonous) lounging in the trail, so we ended up being out there almost five hours, but a regular hiker could do it in 3.5 hours I think.
