If it wasn't for Conrad whom i met at the trailhead, and my wife's purple gloves i would not have made the summit. We started about 7am in the canyon it was a bit cold but not to bad. The closer we got to icehouse saddle tho is when the snow started up and other hikers started to turn back around. Once we got to the saddle it got cold and wind real fast, but once we crossed it and started towards the peak again the mountain side blocked the wind. Still snowing we continued until we saw the last set of hikers come back and say it was a bit too crazy for them. So we went a bit further and decided ourselves to throw in the towel. Sad and slow we made our way back until we saw just a bit of sun through the clouds. We looked at each other and were like “what do you think?” “Let's do it?” “Yeah!”. So off we went to hit the summit and it was worth it. We tested ourselves and it paid off!
We were above the clouds and it was gorgeous, no view from the peak itself but it's my second time up so I have seen it before. It was a great hike and cheers to Conrad for being my hiking partner for the day.
