We got a little bit of a late start on our hike- about 650-7a but headed right out after a bathroom break. There were 4 of us, 2 who are doing the Six Pack. The trail started cool and stayed cool to the saddle. We stopped at the saddle for about 30min and ate, rehydrated, and take Some pictures. We headed right back out and enjoyed the last few minutes of cool air until the sun was ready to join us.
We got to the switch backs and the trail was still great. It was a good workout but not too hard. We eventually made it to the peak and met lots of great people who had already summited. We got our pics in and then headed right back down. A couple people in my group were affected by the altitude but they lowered through like champs.
