Beautiful day for a hike. We started at 745am (parking lot was full by 730am so we ended up parking about 400 meters down the street, we displayed our adventure pass just in case). View from the peak was of the clouds and not LA/Inland empire. Nice breeze and foilage cover. Some patches of snow along the way, but all off trail. Hiking boot were perfectly adequate. One portion or two had to cross close or around snow packs. I printed out hikingguy.com turn by turn trail description (https://hikingguy.com/hiking-trails/best-la-hikes/cucamonga-peak-hike/) which came in handy in keeping us on trail. It helped that there were people all along the way to help too.

4.25 hours to get to the summit with a few breaks along the way up. An hour lunch break at the summit and had fun with picture taking ???? 2.45 hours to come back down to the trail head (we took fewer breaks coming down and really wanted to finish so we could use the bathroom).

Solid hike. Great variety of views, landscapes, terrain and technicality. The Icehouse stream/river was a wonderful visual and audible complement. It was running nice and strong. A waterfall or two along the way. And much appreciated when we wanted to feel some ice cold water. More enjoyable and satisfying than Mt Wilson hike. Lots of climbing yesterday, thank goodness for strong quads! I used my Gregory Zulu 30L day backpack. My knees were pretty shot after Mt Wilson, fortunately, they were decent after this hike. I'll post picture later hopefully.

Up next – Mt Baldy ????
