This time my friends brought their dogs. Tough little buggers! I took the hike slow and steady, realizing this is a marathon and I didn't want to tap out my legs before the peak. Turned out to be a really good idea because down was a little harder than I expected. Started out about 6:20, little late because the line for the trail head bathroom took forever! Spent about 30 minutes at the saddle. There were some small patches of snow near and at the peak, perfect for the little dogs to rest their worn paws. We spent about an hour at the peak as my friends enjoyed a little summit beer and we waited (again with the lines) to take our peak photos. Yes, there were a lot of people on this hike, but who could blame us, it was a gorgeous day! I was shocked that it was after 6:00 though when we finally made it back to the parking lot. Still plenty of daylight so it really didn't seam that late, but jeez, nearly 12 hours. I was exhausted but here it is day 2 after hike and I feel really good.
