The hike was not too strenuous, albeit we took numerous breaks. Luckily, we read other posts about lots of bugs on the trail and we were prepared with plenty of bug repellant. We also learned that the ascent starts immediately and rarely levels out. However, the distance to the peak was not bad at all and the trail was a level, asphalt road. The road was a welcomed medium after a strenuous hike on loose surfaces and scrambling to a different peak, the week prior. There were beautiful wildflowers everywhere along the road and we saw a decent sized rattle snake along the path, as well as four wonderful hawks circling from a distance. As usual, the hikers we passed were courteous and friendly. Overall, a great hike and a memorable day.
