From clear blue skies and wispy clouds passing overhead at top speed to whiteout conditions and post-holing for 12 miles straight = beyond exhausting yet epic hiking experience! The entire trail system was covered in at least 18 inches of snow but hard packed enough to only post-hole on occasion. Snowshoeing would’ve been the way to go here.
Take the Conejos / Azalea Glen trail on the Cuyamaca descent rather than the Lookout road for more scenic single track!
