Gorgeous day and great temperatures for hiking in the Superstitions. Beautiful wildflowers adorned the base and spread out to the valley below. Flat Iron never diasappoints. This is a challenging uphill battle in which the trail is rocky, and climbing boulders is the name of the game. One of the segments is called slide rock and it feels as if you have just landed on Mars. Interesting terrain with diverse segments. We ascended in the eary morning and had great shade coverage. Descending there was more direct sunlight but I found a few rays filtering down amongst the valley walls which inspired me to dance down the Siphon draw.
