Part of why I took on the six pack of peaks challenge last year was to overcome my fear of heights in addition to learning how to better cope with my generalized anxiety disorder. Well, I’ve grown tremendously since then, taking on challenges I never would’ve imagined possible. Nevertheless, I still have my occasional setbacks. I had an anxiety attack as I ascended through the most narrow part of Devils Backbone trail during this hike. It served as a reminder of why I started and that my anxiety is still very present, only difference now is I move forward confidently (fearful, shaking knees and all), knowing the mountains and my good Lord have given me the strength to work past moments of weakness like this ♥️
