I started the hike to Cucamonga Peak about 6:30AM. The trail runs along a stream crossing it several rocky times. The one constant on this trail is rocks. I mean I expected rocks on a nature trail but there are a lot. Still the view from the peak is worth it. Gorgeous views over LA and the 15 pass. Oh and the other highlight of the day – I discovered that bags of chips expand at high altitudes! Getting down was a bit of a struggle. Motivated by my IPhone play list I went down the trail way too fast. Without knee pads my knees started killing me towards the bottom – again because of the rooks. That never happened to me before – the struggle was real.
