Hike Log

Early Hike extra enjoyable!

Trailhead:

Vincent Gulch

Type of Hike:

Day hike

Trail Conditions:

Minor obstacles posing few problems

ROAD:

Road suitable for all vehicles

Bugs:

Bugs were not too bad

Snow:

Intermittent snow – not hard to cross

To start with, I woke up extra early on accident and decided just to get going. I am glad I did because I caught a beautiful sunrise and there was nobody on the road once I got off a Pearblossom Highway (which felt pretty weird for LA).

There were a good number of cars in the parking lot when I started around 6:30. It was already warm enough to ditch my jacket (I think when I left at 10:30 my car said it was 100°).

Again, there are patches of snow near the top, but it is manageable. I am glad I had my polls for additional stability.

Oh and the bugs were a little bit annoying at points but not the entire time.
