There is little to no shade on this hike and it was hot so I went through a lot of water. The inclines are pretty steep on the way to the summit and are just as steep on the way back. The rangers put out water at two different locations. Overall the trail was easy to navigate and plenty of other people on the trail. The website says the parking lot opens at 8am but the sign at the actual lot says 7am. If you get there earlier you can park on the road next to the parking lot.
