I was dreading this hike of all the hikes on my list, the way people talk about it is daunting. The day was perfectly clear, no wind and not a cloud in the sky when we set out at 6am. It ended up taking 7.5 hours to complete. The trail is in descent condition, however water erosion is visible and the trail itself is pretty treacherous. The slippery pebbles on hard packed earth make the trip back slower than other trails and it does get annoying. Trekking poles are a must! As is plenty of water. The summit was….perfect! 360 views as far as the eye can see. Getting to the top wasn't too bad, but getting back is where this hike hurts. It feels like it goes on and on. The closest thing I can relate this hike to is when we did the Mission Trails 5 Peak Challenge all in one day. You definitely earn your dinner after this beast. It was a great hike overall and I would do it again.
