Took the Mitchell Canyon Fire Road to Deer Flat and then to Juniper Campground to the summit. Uphill was a good hike that seem like moderate-hard. The descent was via a section called the Prospector's gap – this was one hell of an excruciating descent. This section took us the longest time and seem treacherous in spots. While the intention was to come down prospector's gap and take the Eagle peak trail down to Mitchell canyon, we took the easier way down via Deer Flat because the downhill section wore us out. Weather was pleasant on top!
