12March22

This was a 2-Peak day hike plan to start the 2022 San Diego 6POP with Volcan and then Cuyamaca at a later time.

It was rather a large group consisting of regular hikers that I usually tag along with and the seasonal hiker friends…sort of like a reunion hike 🙂

Beautiful day to begin with but warmed up nicely with sporadic low wind gust toward the top. And yes, I finally found the geo marker with the help of a non-San Diegan hiker friend, thanks Tita J 🙂

First time taking the Five Oaks trail going down and we actually liked it for its different view, the manzanita-lined trail & the mini switchbacks. I think I might be taking this route regularly (either way) from now on.

And as expected, we hit Julian town for a quick brunch with a slice of apple!!!
