Perfect weather for a winter hike and to finish off the challenge on NYE day! It rained a ton the day before so the trail was a little muddy in spots and a few puddles along the way but it made it easier so I wasn’t slipping on loose dirt. Trail was fairly level most of the way up but a little rockier than expected based on reviews. They were right about the last .3 mi to the peak being the most difficult tho and a steeper climb but the 360 views at the top were well worth it! Chillier at the peak but chatted with a few other hikers and enjoyed my snacks and summit beer. Even had cell service to watch the end of my college alma mater football bowl game! Drive to the hike from LA wasn’t too bad either. 1 1/2 hours each way. Beautiful views driving past Lake Elsinor on the way back. And with that, I am done with the 2021 SoCal challenge!!! ??
