My sister and I headed out from Phoenix at 4:30 am.  We made it to the trailhead by 7:30 and it was already pretty warm! This was my first time hiking Bear, but my sister’s fourth time. The trail was easy to follow for the most part. We ran into some hikers who had seen a rattlesnake but weren’t lucky enough to see one. We saw lots of little lizards and bees, but not much else in regards to wildlife. The best views were at about 1.8 miles into the hike, though it was awesome to see snow-capped Humphrey’s Peak at the summit. Overall, it was a beautiful hike with some majorly rewarding views. BONUS: we met several other hikers working on completing the summer six-pack challenge!

After our hike, we rewarded ourselves with a trip to Page Springs Cellars for some wine and a delicious charcuterie board!
