Our first peak of the year and my longest hike ever to date! So excited for this challenge! The road to Chantry Flats was closed so we parked in a neighborhood and took the Sierra Madre Old Mount Wilson trail. Started around 6:15AM and back to the car around 3:30PM. It took us about 9 hours, but we went pretty slow – stopping to take pictures, snack and stretch breaks. It maybe took us about four hours to get up and hours to get down. We also walked around the top for about an hour and a half, taking pictures and enjoying our snacks with the view. It was such a beautiful day and a great first peak – we made friends along the way and pet a lot of dogs 😂❤️ Can’t wait for the next one!
