Had planned to start at Santa Anita Canyon trail head, however there was a trail race going on and I was denied access. So, I went down the road a bit to Bailey Canyon trail head and took that to mt. wilson trail. This adjusted route definitely gave me more elevation gain and I was able to snag Jones Peak on the way to the mt. wilson trail, which was a nice bonus! This may be my favorite peak so far. Most of the hike was in the clouds which was nice. At one point, I was literally stopped in my tracks. The peaceful sounds of the fog soaked pines dripping from above and the lush green fern lined trail was just something I was grateful to be a part of for that moment in time. Truly a beautiful forest.
