The Franconia Ridge… one of New Hampshire’s most beautiful sights to set one’s eyes upon. From Mt Lincoln to Mt Lafayette you find yourself in awe of their splendor. The day we chose to trek, was not a day we should of chosen; the temperatures soared to mid-90’s (that’s not normal for the Northeast) with a humidity percentage that seemed like we were hiking in the Amazon jungle but yet, we trekked without distaste. We started are journey ascending via the Falling waters trail which winds alongside a well moving brook with waterfalls and cascades, could you ask for more?. But once you summit Lincoln and start your saunter over the ridge you realize why this hike is rated with such high regards. We stopped at the Green leaf hut descending off of Mt Lafayette to refuel before hiking the rest of the way out. I love these huts, well built and taken care of. They offer nutriment, restrooms and sleeping quarters. Keep up the good work you do for us AMC.
