Beautiful day for a hike. Started a little after 7am with a gorgeous sunrise and temps in the 60s. First thirty minutes or so in the shade from the high mountains. Views in all directions are stunning. Desert foliage, huge rock formations, and blue skies. Trail is well kept and not too many areas to slip or fall to your death. A few technical areas but mostly just a nice steady uphill climb. Tricky staying with the trail around the quarter mile mark and about a quarter mile from the end but pay attention and you will see it. Saddle has nice spots to sit and admire the 360 degree views. Encountered very few people and had no problem parking at the trailhead early morning. By the time we finished it was a ton of people we passed on the way down, parking lot full, and dirt road pretty busy. Really recommend early start to have some quiet time.
