Friday on Cucamonga Peak

Hit this peak in perfect weather on a Friday, with only a handful of other hikers on the trail. Trail was great and perfectly clear. My only caution would be that the manzanita is in bloom and very close to the trail on both sides, which means lots of bees — they left me alone but if you're allergic I'd recommend bringing necessary precautions. Also had my first experience with altitude sickness, which is bizarre because I've been on much higher peaks (Baldy, Whitney) with no issues! Splitting headache and nausea that didn't really abate until I was completely out of the canyon at sea level, with an overwhelming desire to lay down on the trail and go right to sleep. Super weird — goes to show it doesn't matter how fit or experienced you are. Happy trails!
