The trail starts out on asphalt then you cross the first of like 7 or 8 nice creak crossing bridges. Heading up to the lake the trail is very well maintained and wide, then it changes to a single file trail. The area was incredibly busy with people today (Saturday). Had clouds that burned off to fantastic views with distant partially cloudy blocking Mt Adams, St Helens, but Jefferson and i believe 3 fingered Jack? were easily visible. We enjoyed some fun butterflies and some squirrels attempting to enjoy lunch with us. Its a fantastic trail definitely go on a clear as possible day. The upper lake trail swamp boards were floating and would sink into the water so we skipped those and stayed on the main trail. Trillium was starting to bloom but no Rhododendrons yet.
