Camels hump had got to be one of the more enjoyable day hikes of the most common climbs in New England. Just enough challenge, just enough incline to get the heart rate pounding. At times there were technical aspects of the climbing and all of which was met with incredible views! We took the Forest City Trail to Long Trail, Ascended to the summit where we enjoyed a picnic lunch, and hiked down burrows trail. It took us 5hours 45 minutes of hiking to complete this mountain, with the first 3.5-4 hours on the way up. There were technical aspects at the above-tree line that was just 0.1 miles to the summit. These steep ledges presented heart racing moments where we had a face our fear of heights! Burrows was easy on the knees heading down and would make a lovely trail heading upwards as well. Highly recommend, this is everything you would want a day hike to be.
