This was the final hike to close out the San Diego Six Pack. I drove down early from LA and was one of two cars in lot. Got started at 0830 and quickly remembered the initial uphill climb. I was glad I was not doing this in the heat of the summer. I enjoy this hike after the first 2 miles when it turns into a nice stroll through the pines. Once I reached the peak I lounged around for a few minutes watching a glider being towed and then doing a few circles around the tower, one of which was very close at eye level. Missed the great shot of that pass. It was time to head down making quicker work of the hike. I was surprised that I only ran into 5 other hikers on a Saturday morning, but it made for a peaceful conclusion to the San Diego Challenge.
