We opted for the 7+ mile Gobblers over the 4+ mile. The slow burn climb appealed to us more than the quick gain and we wanted more steps and a workout. This hike’s sense of accomplishment is at the finish, not so much the summit. Great hike for steps, heart rate, and steady burn. Enjoy your snack and meals for the day because you’ll earn them. Around 2/3’s of the hike is a trail split, follow the All Trails line and stay right for Gobblers instead of heading towards Olympus area. Also don’t fall for the false summit. We hit a little human-made rock stack and thought it was the top – it’s not. Keep going over and up until you see the big flat white rocks and the dead giveaway mailbox on top. Soak in the 10,000 foot view and get ready to crush the trail down. It’s a solid accomplishment.
