We camped overnight at Mt. Figueroa Campground which is about 20 minutes from the trailhead. There were no permits in the box so we just signed in on the board. Luckily, it was foggy all day for us to get up the mountain. There were two sections that were very slick that we had to climb up on our hands and knees. It was foggy and windy at the top so no views except of the Chumash decorative poles that adorn the peak. I paired this Peak with Fig Mountain’s Hoppy Poppy because it did have poppies on it in spring. Going down was challenging and I fell 3 times so make sure you have poles and good pants. We started at 7 am and got done about 3 pm. Then, we went to Los Olivos to drink wine to numb the pain in our legs!
