We finished this one today! This will be my second time hiking this peak and you get a bonus summit by crossing the saddle over to Torreys Peak. They do have dispersed camping along the road, but there is also several spots up near the top by the trailhead. We started about 4:45am. This is typically a very popular, highly trafficked hike. So I would recommend starting early or if you have the option to hike on a weekday, even better. The road to the trailhead is very rough and I would recommend a 4WD vehicle. We had a very light dusty of snow at the top of Grays that lasted about 2 min. It was chilly. So make sure to pack layers. One more hike to go to complete the challenge. Fingers cross we get the hike in before the snow really starts to fall.
