And I don’t mean from the comforts of your warm and cozy home.  I know that it was my own fault, but I waited to the end of 2023 to complete the challenge.  I was a little worried when I heard about the rain in the forecast, but I figured as long as the trail remained snow free I would be ok.  Yes, I survived .. but at what cost?

The trail itself was muddy, though I had my trekking poles for stability and I realized that my micro-spikes came in handy for the parts of the trail that were slippery.  The last time I hiked this trail I was able to see lots of wildlife, but I think my constant complaining scared the deer away.

There was a section that was a bit sketchy as there seems to have been a minor rockslide that was passable, however a bit challenging for me due to my mobility/flexibility issues.  I think I ran across less than a handful of people on the trail, but that is probably because the rest of you are saner than I.

I feel like I learn a little something about myself every time I hit the trails and this time I used my previous knowledge to pre-arrange a meet-up at the summit; I asked my sisters to meet me there with clean clothes and a celebratory hot cider in case the Cosmic Cafe was not open. BEST DECISION EVER.

The views at the top were .. well, cloudy with brief glimpses of blue sky.  Again, my own fault to have waited this long.

Well, 2023 6 PoP .. it is a wrap and I am glad to have gotten back out into nature.
