Hi-yi-yike-s because:

1) This was our ‘official' sixth hike of the Six Pack of Peaks Challenge!

2) This was the highest peak we have hiked to.

3) We left at home 4:30am and didn't get back home until 9pm!

Although this was our sixth hike, it won't feel like we completed the challenge until we finish the other six. There were plenty of bear warnings, but we didn't see any bears. I say we saw Big Foot, but Sara says it was the altitude and a tree trunk. There was plenty of shade which was very nice because even though the air was cool, the sun was hot. This hike was challenging! Not only did we feel the altitude, but it was an incline the whole way with a few short short level spots. Still on the look out for missing hiker David O'Sullivan!!

While planning the hike,  were confused as to where we could park; Marion campsite? Along hwy 243? Dark Canyon road? We just went for it and found a small parking area at the trail-head. Woohoo!

Don't forget to get your day permit from the Ranger Station along hwy 243!!

This trail has everything from smooth trails, rocks, roots, bushwhacking, and bolder scrambling. A great all around hike, but you need to be prepared and know what you are getting into; it is not for the novice hiker.
