Started 30 min later than planned, at 8am.   The monsoon season has arrived and so we were trying to beat the stormy weather. We mostly succeeded (we got rain on our descent).  The uphill on this trail is NO JOKE. 🍑🍑 Very steep in sections and  several big, steep sections of scree (bring poles if you want to help with footing). Strava logged 3,700 elevation gain. Did I mention steep?!  Made it to the summit in 3 hours.  So glad to have my best friend and co-six pack challenger with me today. At the summit we witnessed a very traumatic event and so our prayers are with the family of this hiker.   Life is precious and shouldn’t be taken for granted 💔
