Wonderful day hiking to the north peak of Mount Saint Helena. Got a late start so had to deal with sun but it wasn’t too hot, there was enough shade from time to time and a breeze as we climbed. We packed a lot of water – well needed. This hike was moderate for me as I have been hiking long miles all Covid-19. Amazing views, rugged trail before the fire road, gorgeous rock formations. Wildflowers. Lizards. Soaring Turkey Vultures. Deer. The last quarter mile to the summit was tough though- steep, full sun. Reaching the summit and taking in the view was so worth every agony!
I did wish signage to the North Peak was better as there were two spur trails to other peaks off to the left of the main trail. So stay on the main trail to get to the summit.
