Hike Log

Hike #1 – Strawberry Peak

Trailhead:

Redbox Picnic Area

Type of Hike:

Day hike

Trail Conditions:

Trail in good condition

ROAD:

Road suitable for all vehicles

Bugs:

No bugs

Snow:

Intermittent snow – not hard to cross

Starting early in the day and year was definitely a good idea because it wasn't too hot.  The beginning of the day it was pretty much clear skies which meant I didn't need as many layers that I thought I would need, clouds rolling in around noon meant I was happy I had them at least.  A very light sprinkling of snow was on either sides during different portions of the trail but even some of that burned off by the time we made it back down the trail.

Disappointing thing though was there were no strawberries… why is it called Strawberry Peak with no strawberries?!
