Trail snow-covered at times – Gear and expertise recommended

A small group of us set out to hike from Devil’s Slide Trailhead in Humber Park to San Jacinto Summit for Autism Awareness on Black Friday, November 27, 2020.

The trailhead was clear of snow. Patches of snow began at Saddle Junction with the heaviest collection along the switchbacks.

Sun exposed slopes were clear of snow. Spikes were helpful along the snowy, icy sections. It was very slippery, at times.

A good amount of snow toward the summit as well but not too hard to maneuver.

It was a gusty day with 10-25 mph winds, temperatures in the 30°s at the summit. (There’s a new summit sign at the top.)

As always, a beautiful hike.
